KRISTINE on Kamikazee-im watching you-the first and only time i saw them perform on stage in flesh is @ the U.P Feb Fair '06. i'm probably 6 years late for a fan of a band that's been around since 2000. yes, iam a fan. but no, it's never too late.
it's strange how someone or something grows in you without really noticing it. i was first inadmittant that i like their kind of music but when i found myself humming every song in track, jumping into the beat, roaming around the worldwide web, getting amused at every post in the official mailing list and on very few other times even daydreaming i'm upfront with the 5 fingers, (ehehehehe) i think it's but logical to realize that indeed, i love more than like the music behind the band. with a 100 & thousand mega voltz adrenaline rush from the band and the hyped- up kamikazee- infected crowd, the environment for Pinoy Rock Music nowadays has been set to ablaze the quintet's fearless, witty, intriguing, infectious and heartfully & soulfully crafted music along with their stand up comic, exhilarating, intense and even provocative performance. it's amazing how a group of five once ordinary men gets to do what they've always desired so and touch & move a million other people out there through their music. clearly, their passion and message has gotten across and is now filling the air with so much madness. oh yeah; everyone, kamikazee...

Maharot.THIS is the kamikazee that leaves & keeps me high on a different ground. even better than the Florida- based rock band having the same name. even more drunkening that the mix of 1 1/4 oz vodka + 3/4 blue curacao + lime juice, shaked, strained & served kamikazee liquor and is on a league of their own beyond their name's Japanes origin, kamikaze which means suicidal attack.i'm a distant kamikazee lover. i may sound to be a dormant, remote & a very "walang kwentang" fan but allow me, let this published post be my first non- dormant, non- remote, non- "walang kwentang" own special way of expressing the magnitude of respect and love i have for all the people who's been supporting them from since, for the inspiration, for the influence, and for the music the band is unselfishly contributing to the music industry and to each & everyone's sometimes droning life. and although i have known their gig skeds and i have loved them for as far as i can remember, i have not been, but i'm dying to be, around or anywhere near any of their gigs. i haven't even bought the album, which now turned Platinum, neither have i wore the Maharot shirt or any kamikazee merchandise nor gotten autographs from or pictures with any one of them. WAIT. ONE DAY, I WILL...because right now, the spectrum can barely put up with the phase of the chase. from Ora d Caf to MTV, from ramps to red carpets, from pro bono to laddering talent fees, from nameless commoners to fame figures, from dreams to reality, without a doubt, kamikazee is hot blazingly conquering airwaves, bars, cities, television, hit charts & even product endorsement OST. at par with world- class talents, this MTV local Artist of the Month for July truly deserves to be given a hardrock solid, heartfelt Pinoy Rock SaLuDo! (witwiw) they've come a long long way & a long long journey is still ahead. with sheer determination, heat stroking charisma, musical flair and Divine intervention (o di ba!? ) we can only hope & want to see them soar even higher, reach the skies, & be among the luminary stars humbled & learned by their experiences and sacrifices.to jay and the rest of the gang, more and more blessings! you're damn great!... and that's simply it... beyond description.. beyond words.. rock on!
